Life Education Goulburn Murray Region Committee & the new Mobile Learning Centre

A big thank you to our Victorian Legends from the Children of the Goulburn Murray regions.
Thanks to your fantastic Ocsober fundraising efforts, the children of the Goulburn Murray regions will participate in a Life Education program with our mascot Healthy Harold in a brand new Mobile Learning Centre (MLC).

Our dedicated educators visit over 38 schools in the region and with the old MLC no longer up to the rigors of travel and interactive lessons, it was essential that a new one be provided.

The new MLC, built by Murray Valley Motor Homes was launched at Tatura Primary school last week. Life Education Goulburn Murray region committee Chair, Andrew Galbraith said that it was a great day for the much loved giraffe Healthy Harold.

“Everyone seems to remember Harold, it looks great inside, it’s very comfortable for the kids.”

He said that with the new MLC, Life Education could continue the tradition of bringing important health messages to local children.

“I think the Goulburn Murray (region) continually needs this form of education”.

“We have a lot of youth who display a number of issues and problems and I think that if we can start from the ground up hopefully it will make a big difference.”

Year 6 student Michael Coonerty said, ”I’ve been in the Life Ed van a couple of times and I’ve seen Harold most times and I’ve got to pat his head, so it’s been really good”.

At the Launch, Life Education Victoria CEO, Michelle Wood said that, “we aim to empower young people to make informed decisions related to their own health, wellbeing and behaviours by expanding their knowledge and skills through our interactive education sessions. Children are motivated by the session content, which is current, relevant and age specific, to make healthy lifestyle decisions.”

Thank you Legends for empowering our children to live positive, safe and healthy lives.
