Tips for Getting Ready – Fitness Guru

Asha Burnley Ocsober Fitness GuruThank you for joining us! We’re now just weeks out from this year’s Ocsober, a time when we’ll all give up alcohol together, while working towards our $700,000 goal of empowering 700,000 Aussie kids to make safe and healthy life choices!

Over the past few months, I’ve been in touch with you to encourage some small lifestyle changes. Not only to get a little healthier, but to set ourselves up for success throughout our Ocsober journey this year. Drinking more water and getting active for 30-60 minutes each day, have been our top priorities. Now it’s time to make sure we’re ready to give up alcohol for 31 days.

Let your friends, family and work colleagues know you’re joining us, so they can support you – or even join us, too! If you know at least one person involved this year, you can share the 31 days together, keeping each other active, healthy and accountable.

If your weekly routine involves alcohol (for example, Friday night drinks after work), start to decide if you’ll still attend and simply swap your drink choices for non-alcoholic ones. Or, if you’ll be mixing up your routine by doing something different during that time, like working out, walking with your Ocsober buddy, learning a new skill, sport or hobby, or spending time with your loved ones.

Remember to share your journey with us via the following handles #ocsober and #losethebooze so we can support you and get inspired by what you’re up to. You’ll also be helping to create awareness for this cause, and show your community that you’ve made a wonderful choice to help our Aussie kids.
